Adult Children of
Emotionally Immature Parents

Growing up with emotionally immature parents can leave deep and lasting scars. As an adult, you might struggle with feelings of inadequacy, constant self-doubt, and difficulty forming healthy relationships. You may find yourself constantly seeking approval, feeling overwhelmed by emotions, or stuck in a cycle of guilt and shame. These unresolved issues can prevent you from living a fulfilling and authentic life, leaving you feeling isolated and misunderstood.

Understanding and addressing these deep-rooted challenges is essential for your mental well-being and personal growth.

If any of this resonates with you, I invite you to join our support group specifically designed for Asian American adults (18+) who are children of emotionally immature parents. Based on Lindsay Gibson's transformative book, Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents, this group offers a safe and nurturing space to explore these issues, share experiences, and learn effective strategies for healing and self-empowerment. Take the first step towards reclaiming your life and finding the support you deserve. Contact me today to join the next group and start your journey towards healing and self-discovery.

  • For our virtual cohort, we will be using Google Meets for all of our session. For our in-person session, we will meet at the Wild Lavender Therapy office located in San Jose.

  • This group is great for those figuring out their racial identity, of multicultural backgrounds and is a child of emotionally immature parents. Participants who are wanting a space to share about their experiences and gain a sense of community.

  • Support groups center around sharing of your experiences and building community. Group therapy, on the other hand, focuses on change through professional facilitation. While there will be a professional facilitating discussions, discussions will be more free-form where participants are encouraged to share more openly.
